Workshops open for Building Resilient Communities Convergence

Workshop applications are now open for the Building Resilient Communities Convergence!

We believe it’s time to Transition to Permaculture. That’s why the 10th annual Northern California Permaculture Convergence is joining forces with the NorCal Regional Transition Initiative Network to bring you a collaborative “Resilient Communities Convergence” on Oct. 11-13, an action-packed weekend exploring how Permaculture principles can be applied to the Transition Movement and transform our communities and our food, water, energy, and economic systems to be truly sustainable and resilient.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE: Hosted at the Solar Living Institute in Hopland, highlights of the Resilient Communities Convergence will include:

Keynote speeches and panel discussions from some of the world’s top resilience leaders – including Rob Hopkins (founder of the Transition Movement) and Richard Heinberg

A Marketplace filled with local sustainable products
Entertainment from some rockin’ bands and theater groups
Dynamic workshops led by leaders in permaculture and Transition — yes, that’s YOU!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS: We are seeking skilled facilitators to lead 45-minute workshops with the following themes: skill shares (ie, permaculture skills, natural building, etc.), community organizing and movement building, re-conomy, panel discussions about specific themes (energy, food, inner transition, etc.) and building eco-communities.

Workshop presenters may request a discount to the conference. More details and the workshop application can be found here (conference website will be completed in the next week). Workshop applications are due on August 20th.
